No Students Hurt in School bus-Car Wreck

PRETTY PRAIRIE, Kan. (AP) _ The Kansas Highway Patrol says no one aboard a school bus driven by a 78-year-old substitute driver was injured in a collision with a car in Reno County.

Troopers say James Morrison of Pretty Prairie had stopped the bus for a stop sign around 3:30 p.m. Monday, and pulled in front of a northbound car on K-17, about 15 miles south of Hutchinson. Morrison and eight students, ranging in age from 5 to 18, were not
hurt.

Pretty Prairie Schools Superintendent Brad Wade said Tuesday that Morrison is a substitute driver and will not be called to work pending the findings of an investigation.

The car driver, 31-year-old Lisa Coulter of Pretty Prairie, was listed in fair condition at a Wichita hospital.

Wade says 280 students attend three schools in the district.
