MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) _ Chris Cosh, the defensive coordinator at Maryland the past three years, has been named co-defensive coordinator and assistant head coach at Kansas State.

Cosh, a 1983 graduate of Virginia Tech, will now have served as defensive coordinator in four of the six BCS conferences. He will also be linebackers coach, a position he held under Snyder at Kansas State in 2004 and 2005.

Snyder, the winningest coach in Kansas State history, retired after the 2005 season but decided to return last month when Ron Prince was fired after three seasons.
