20th Annual World Aids Day in Topeka Monday

Monday marks the 20th annual World Aids Day. An interfaith service and candlelight memorial was held Monday night at Lowman United Methodist Church in Topeka.

The ceremony is meant to raise awareness of the disease and remember those that have died from it. People from Kenya, Brazil, and the United States spoke about how the disease effects their countries.

After the candle lighting, leaders from different faith spread names of those who have died from the disease. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Topeka Aids Project.
