Two KC Area Shoppers Struck in Parking Lot

LEE'S SUMMIT, Mo. - Two people needed hospital treatment after being struck while pushing a shopping cart across a street in suburban Kansas City.
The accident happened before dawn Friday near a crowded Wal-Mart
parking lot in Lee's Summit.
Police say the 35-year-old man and 34-year-old woman were struck
around 6 a.m. by a 25-year-old driver heading to work.
Police spokesman Mike Childs described the victims' injuries as
non-life-threatening.
No charges have been filed. and the investigation continues this weekend.
