Middle School Students Learn To Volunteer

Some Washburn Rural Middle School Students are taking some time out to volunteer in the community.

A group of eighth graders called the Odyssey Team were at the Topeka Rescue Mission Thrift Store Monday.

They helped pack glasses and move containers around to get things ready to sell.

"Community Days" is designed to expose the students to volunteer opportunities in the Topeka and Auburn Areas and give the kids a chance to give back to the community in a positive way.

Students will be volunteering Tuesday at a number of locations including Toys For Tots, Parents As Teachers and the Auburn Community Center.
