Victim of Hunting Accident Identified

ELBING, Kan. (AP) _ Authorities say Kansas hunter is dead after falling from a deer stand.

The Butler County Sheriff's Department identified the hunter 46-year-old Kevin Jantz of Newton. Deputies said Jantz had hunted the area in the northwest part of the county for many years.

State Wildlife and Parks Officer Tyson Nielson says Jantz fell about 25 feet from the deer stand Saturday, about four miles east of Elbing. Jantz was dead on arrival at a Wichita hospital.
