Attorney: Floyd Murder Charges to be Dismissed

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ A defense attorney says prosecutors plan to dismiss all charges against a Johnson City couple accused of killing the woman's ex-boyfriend.

Defense attorney Dan Monnat says a dismissal hearing is scheduled at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Johnson City. Chad and Shannon Floyd were charged with first-degree murder and conspiracy. Two juries have been unable to reach a verdict in a case where the body was never found.

Michael Golub of Johnson City is believed to have been killed on May 20, 2005. Prosecutors say DNA from stains on the Floyds' porch matches Golub's blood.

Monnat says the Floyds are innocent and they are anxious to put these trials behind them and move on with their lives.

The Kansas attorney general's office did not immediately return calls for comment.
