Army to Execute Guilty Former Soldier

The Army has scheduled the execution date for a former Fort Bragg, North Carolina soldier who was convicted of multiple rapes and murders.

Former cook Ronald Gray is scheduled to be executed December 10 at the Federal Correctional Complex in Terre Haute, Ind.

Army Secretary Pete Geren ordered that Gray be executed by lethal injection. President Bush approved Gray's execution in July. Gray is being confined at the U.S. disciplinary barracks at Fort Leavenworth.

He was convicted inconnection with a spree of four murders and eight rapes in the Fayetteville, N.C., area between April 1986 and January 1987 while he was stationed at Fort Bragg.
