Washburn University Takes Part in Great American Smokeout

1,200 crosses filled the lawn of the Memorial Union at Washburn University to help smokers kick the habit.

The display was organized by the Washburn American Medical Student Association as part of the Great American Smokeout.

The crosses represent the 1,200 people who die each day from smoking related illnesses.

A display was also located inside the union that showed students the effects of smoking.
