Ex-AG's Affair Issue in Kan. Abortion Case

WICHITA, Kan. (AP) _ A one-time investigator for former Kansas Attorney General Phill Kline is back on the witness stand in a hearing related to the case against a Wichita abortion doctor.

Dr. George Tiller's lawyers are questioning investigator Thomas Williams in efforts to portray Tiller as a victim of overzealous prosecutors. Williams returned to the stand Wednesday, and Kline was
expected to resume his testimony next week. Morrison could testify

Former Attorney General Paul Morrison's affair has given Tiller an avenue to allege unfairness in the criminal case against him. But so far a series of subpoenas has not yielded a signed statement in which Linda Carter reportedly said she pressured Morrison to charge Tiller.

Sedgwick County District Judge Clark Owens was expected to rule
Wednesday on requests by the reporter who broke the story about the
affair, and the special prosecutor investigating it. They both want the judge to quash defense subpoenas for Carter's statements.
