Washburn Holds Post Election Forum

Students at Washburn University are getting a first hand look at the election process.

A post election town forum was held tonight at the Washburn campus, where political communication students got the chance to talk to local political leaders.

Attendees included Shawnee County District Attorney-Elect Chad Taylor and newly elected State Representative Sean Gatewood.

The students are supposed to apply what they have learned throughout the election process to write a final paper.

They have taken part in online blogs, debate watches, as well as exit polling on election night

Assistant professor Leslie Reynard says she wants the students to be a part of making history by engaging in the democratic process.
