UNITED NATIONS (AP) _ Georgia's U.N. ambassador wants an
international investigation into whether Georgia or Russia started
the war they fought this past summer.

The neighboring countries blame each other for starting the five-day war in South Ossetia, a separatist region in Georgia. Georgia claims it responded to aggression by Russian-backed separatists. But recent media reports have quoted European observers as casting doubt on that.

Georgia's U.N. Ambassador says his country has asked for an investigation from the start.
