The Governor signed a proclamation Friday that will help educate Kansas kids about the dangers of drugs.
Governor Kathleen Sebelius signed the Red Ribbon Week Proclamation during a ceremony in the governor's ceremonial office.
Miss Kansas, Emily Deaver, was on hand to help promote the proclamation.
Deaver says Red Ribbon Week is important to her because she has chosen drug and alcohol abuse prevention as her platform for Miss America.
The proclamation for Red Ribbon Week will help schools educate students about the dangers of drugs for a week in the month of October.
