PUEBLO, Colo. - Colorado authorities say an explosion in downtown Pueblo has killed one person and injured at least seven others. The blast destroyed a restaurant and a shop and forced the evacuation of several blocks.
About four hours after the explosion, rescuers pulled a survivor from the rubble. Crews have been searching the buildings for anyone else who might be trapped inside.
The cause of the blast is being investigated, but at least one witness says she smelled gas. Pueblo is a city of about 106,000, some 100 miles south of Denver.
