TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ Two Lawrence attorneys and a federal prosecutor are in the running to be a Douglas County District Court
judge in Lawrence.

The Kansas Office of Judicial Administration said Thursday that Gov. Kathleen Sebelius will be sent the names of Barbara Kay Huff and Sally Davis Pokorny, both in private practice, and Kenneth M. Warner, an assistant U.S. attorney in Kansas City, Mo., who lives in Eudora.

The names will be submitted to the governor Friday and she will have 30 days to make an appointment. The 7th Judicial District Nominating Commission conducted interviews Wednesday and Thursday of the 16 applicants who applied for the vacancy that will be created by the Jan. 12 retirement of Judge Jack Murphy.
