KC School Locked Down As Police Search For Prisoner

KANSAS CITY, Kan. -- A Kansas City, Kan., elementary school was put on lockdown as police searched for an escaped prisoner on Wednesday morning.

Police said they were looking for Harlan Epps, 21, and believe he might be wounded. Epps was being held in Wichita, Kansas Correction officials said.

Police said Kansas Correction Special Enforcemnet officers, who look for escapees and those who vioolate their parole, were tipped that Epps was in Kansas City, Kan., near North 32nd Street and Brown Avenue. They called Kansas City, Kan., for backup.

Officers said shots were fired at a house in the 3200 block of Farrow Avenue.
