A former Salina Regional Health Center employee has been sentenced to 18 months supervised probation for stealing from the hospital's medication supply.

Tammy Young, 41, was sentenced Monday in Salina County
District Court for possession of narcotics. In February, Young's daughter found that her mother had injected her own leg with Demerol and called an ambulance.

Witnesses testified during the preliminary hearing that several vials of the sedative Demerol had disappeared from the hospital supply.
