OLATHE, Kan. (AP) _ A provisional ballot count shows that a Johnson County commissioner who was videotaped stealing his opponent's campaign signs has lost his seat.

The county's election office Web site Tuesday showed Calvin Hayden with 17,952 votes to John Toplikar's 17,910, a 42-vote margin.
Before the provisional votes were counted, Hayden held a 52-vote
edge.

The race garnered attention when a videotape posted on YouTube showed Toplikar removing Hayden's campaign signs from a green area
along a busy street. Olathe police filed a misdemeanor theft charge
against Toplikar.

In another close race, final results show incumbent House Member Gene Rardin, a Democrat from Overland Park, defeating Republican
Jim Yonally, 5,522 votes to 5,431.
