Kansas Governor's Chicago Trip Leads to Cabinet Talk

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ Gov. Kathleen Sebelius spent part of last week in Chicago, inspiring more talk about her as a potential Cabinet appointee.

Sebelius spokeswoman Nicole Corcoran said the governor was there
to celebrate the 59th birthday of her husband, Gary. But Chicago also is where President-elect Barack Obama's transition team is headquartered.

Even before the election, Sebelius had been mentioned as a potential Cabinet appointee, and she's surfaced as a potential Secretary of Energy or Health and Human Services.

Corcoran said the Chicago trip was planned well in advance of the election and that Sebelius didn't meet with Obama or members of
his transition team.

She and her husband flew to Chicago on Friday and returned to Kansas on Sunday.
