Topeka, KS (WIBW)--A family member confirms a body found in a rural part of the Shawnee County Tuesday is that of 49-year-old Larry Carls.

Carls has been missing since September 9th, 2008 . There are reports that say Carls left a note to his family saying that he wanted to be alone and find out what God wanted him to do, the note suggested he would come home but didn't say when. The family of Carls was offering a reward if anyone knew where he was.

Deputies were called to the 9,000 block of Morrill Road around 1:30 p.m.

The landowner noticed the door on his barn unsecured, he checked it out, and discovered Carls body inside.

Deputies say Carls had probably been dead for several weeks. A Shawnee County Coroner is trying to determine how Carls died. They say there are no visible signs of foul play. An autopsy is pending.
