WRHS Students Vote in Mock Election

Although the votes won't count in the official election, some high school students cast ballots for their presidential candidate.

Washburn Rural High School students took a break during their Social Studies class to take part in the mock election Tuesday.

Organizers say Presidential elections are a special event that students get excited about. They also say the voting practice is very beneficial for the students, perhaps instilling a lifetime habit of voting.

Social Studies teachers have been talking about the elections for some time, which organizers say helps the students take the election more seriously.
