Palin Arrives in Alaska to Cast Ballot in Election

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin has arrived in Alaska to cast a ballot in her hometown of Wasilla.

Palin's plane touched down about 4:45 a.m. Alaska time on a snowy tarmac in Anchorage. She stepped down from the plane with her husband, Todd, and briefly waved before climbing into a black SUV. She didn't speak to reporters.

Palin was expected to vote and then immediately return to the airport for a flight to Phoenix, where she was to join Republican candidate John McCain for the Republicans' watch party Tuesday night.
