Outside Groups Spend $1 Million in 2nd District

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ The 2nd Congressional District race in Kansas is attracting interest, and money, from outside the state.

Outside groups have spent more than $1 million on the race in the past two weeks.

Among the groups supporting Republican Jenkins is the National Republican Congressional Committee and a PAC for the Credit Union National Association.

Boyda has received money from the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and the VFW.

Meanwhile, Jenkins has spent $237,000 for television ads this month, while Boyda has paid $305,523 for TV spots.
