Topeka Group Hears About Improvements by FEMA

A local group got to hear what improvements to disaster response have been made by FEMA since Hurricane Katrina.

Richard Hainje, the Regional Administrator for FEMA Region VII, talked to the Topeka Chapter of the Association of the United States Army on Monday.

He also talked about what citizens can do to be prepared for disasters.

Mr. Hainje has been the Regional Administrator since 2001. He coordinates mitigation, preparedness and disaster response and recovery activities in Kansas, Iowa, Missouri, and Nebraska.
