As we reported earlier, salt supply for Kansas may be low during the upcoming winter months. The Kansas Department of Transportation says it is becoming more difficult to get salt supplies for roads because they are competing more and more with other city and county maintenance departments across the Midwest.

KDOT began stocking up on salt in early summer, but there have been delays in delivery. They say they will use salt conservatively this winter.
