Kansas Economy Likely Not Hurt by Financial Crisis

Even with the slumping economy, there might be some good news for Kansas. Experts say Kansas will probably not be hurt by the current financial crisis as badly as most other states.

A banker on a panel of experts at a town hall meeting in Lawrence Monday night said Kansas is ``insulated'' to some extent. A University of Kansas economics professor said the Kansas economy generally holds steady no matter what is going on nationally.
