Smoking Ban on November Ballot for Manhattan

It is hard to tell if the proposed smoking ban will pass November 4th. Several people we spoke with were on board while several others said no way.

"I think it would be good because I don't smoke," said Morris Dozier but Areale Hanks disagrees. She says it is a person's right to smoke in public areas because they are public.

If the ordinance passes in the general election it would eliminate smoking in public places as well as places of employment within the Manhattan City limits.

The ordinance lists eight reasons for prohibiting smoking. Six of those eight have to do with second hand smoke.
