The candidates for Shawnee County District Attorney are making their final pitches for votes.
Republican Eric Rucker and Democrat Chad Taylor appeared on 13 News at 4 with Ralph Hipp Monday.
Rucker says getting violent offenders off the streets is his top priority. He touted his experience in explaining what makes him different from Taylor.
"I have done the job of district attorney for year after year after year and he never has done that job. He has not prosecuted a criminal case," Rucker said.
Taylor says he'll making targeting gang and drug activity his top priority. He says he his background may not be as a prosecutor, but he is invested in Shawnee County and will work hard.
"My focus is going to solely be on the prosecution of criminals," Taylor said. "I've got no political agenda and that is where the focus and priorities of my office will be."
Candidates in the 2nd Congressional district race will be on 13 News at 4 later this week. Republican Lynn Jenkins will appear Tuesday, while Democrat Nancy Boyda will be in the studio Wednesday.
