LEAVENWORTH, Kan. (AP) _ A Kansas man has published a book of
scary short stories.
Leavenworth resident Joe Wilson wrote ``Enter the Penumbra,''
which was recently released by Publish America.
He said the book is a collection of nine short stories.
Wilson said he moved to Leavenworth after a career in the
The 66-year-old was employed at Lansing Correctional Facility
for five years and spent time on the night shift writing down the
ideas that were ``bubbling'' in his head.
The stories of Stephen King and ``Twilight Zone'' creator Rod
Serling were influential for Wilson.
He says his main source of inspiration was the spooky stories
his aunt used to tell him.
