A legendary restaurant brought the community together for spicey pickles, famous chili, and stories Friday night.
Porubsky's Deli invited people to their store at 508 Northeast Sardou, in Topeka's Little Russia area, for a story swap. People were asked to come in and share their memories of the store. Those stories will be used to make a full-length documentary.
Matthew Porubsky, grandson of the founder, is directing the project. He says it's important to preserve this piece of history and collect people's memories before they're gone.
Porubsky's has been in business for over 63 years.
