TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) _ The Kansas Supreme Court upholds the murder conviction of Gregory A. Moore, convicted of killing a Harvey County deputy and wounding a Hesston police detective.
The court's unanimous ruling Friday upholds the conviction and sentence of life without parole for the April 2005 killing of Deputy Kurt Ford and the wounding of Christopher Eilert. Moore was convicted in in July 2006 by a Sedgwick County jury after the trail was moved to Wichita.
Ford was killed during a shootout at Moore's home in Newton after officers responded to a domestic disturbance call. After a standoff, Moore surrended to police.
