Topeka celebrated the completion of a bus shelter project Thursday.
Topeka Mayor Bill Bunten joined Topeka Transit Authority officials in a ribbon cutting ceremony at a new bus shelter at SW 8th and Western.
The new shelters along the 8th Street corridor are Victorian style. They are designed to blend in with the surrounding architecture of the neighborhood.
The project was a five-year collaborative effort between the city and residents of the Historic Old Town Neighborhood Improvement Association.
