Rain heavy at times will move across northeast Kansas this afternoon and tonight that could lead to flooding. Severe storms are also possible through this evening with 60 mph wind gusts and hail up to the size of quarters.
A Northeast Kansas student is in the running for a national award from Future Farmers of America. Kyler Ohlde has been named a 2008 American Star Farmer finalist.
He purchased a share of his grandparents' dairy farm in Linn, Kansas when they decided to retire.
He is competing with other finalists at the National FFA convention this week. The winner will receive a plaque and an award of $4,000. The runners-up will also receive plaques and $2,000.
