The Stormont-Vail Foundation honored Washburn University Wednesday night for their contribution to health-care. Washburn was presented with the Bal Jeffrey Award.
The foundation says Washburn's School of Nursing emphasizes excellence in teaching that prepares students to be professional nurses. The school has graduated 2100 BSN nurses since its inception.
Jerry Farley accepted the award at a ceremony this evening at the Ramada.
The award is named for the hospital's longest tenured board member and is presented annually.
