Fans of a local restaurant lined up Wednesday for the chance to eat free for a whole year.
Spangles opened its fourth Topeka location. This one is at Southwest 29th and Topeka Boulevard.
When the doors opened at 6am Wednesday morning, the first 100 customers received a year's supply of free meals.
The Spangles chain began in 1978 in Wichita. The company credits its success in northeast Kansas on a quality menu and transplants from south central Kansas seeking out their food.
Spangles has 24 locations in Kansas.
