With Breast Cancer Awareness Month in full swing the community is pitching in to help fight the disease. More than 800 brassieres were strung across the North Lawrence River Bridge Friday, all part of the "Bras Across the Kaw Awareness Campaign."
The campaign's mission is to raise awareness of breast cancer as well as early detection. Organizers say this message is different than others. Organizers say the shock value in health education is really key. This is the second year the event has taken place.
