Topeka, KS (WIBW)--The body found in the Kansas River has been identified as that of a man reported missing last month. According to Sgt. Lance Feyh with the Topeka Police Dept The body is that of 31-year-old Jason Michael McNaughton of Topeka.
Shawnee County Sheriffs along with Topeka Police and the Topeka Fire Department pulled McNaughton's body from the Kansas River Friday afternoon.
His body was pulled from the river just west of the south end of the Kansas Boulevard bridge Friday between 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
Sergeant Akim Reynolds of the Shawnee County Sheriff's Office said a passer-by reported seeing what they thought was a body in the river. Authorities investigated a discovered McNaughton dead in the water.
The cause of death has not been determined, foul play has not been ruled out.
