Shawnee County Commission Meetings in Council Chambers Not an Option

The Shawnee County Commission meetings will be televised on City Channel 4, but not be moved to the city council chambers. Commissioners met Monday and discussed Deputy Mayor Jeff Preisner's proposal to use the city crew that televises council meetings to also televise commission meetings free of charge.

Overall, the commission says they are open to the idea and even offered to move the meetings to the council chambers to make it easier. However, because Topeka's Municipal Court holds sessions in the chambers at the same time commissioners meet on Monday and Thursday mornings, that's not an option.
