TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW)-- A motorcycle rider gave his own personal story of motorcycle safety during the 30th Annual Capital City Motorcycle Show.

Marshall Madill told his survivor story and showed off the helmet that saved his life during a 65 mile per hour collision with a deer on a Missouri highway.

After the public testimonials members of the Department of Transportation set up an outside course at the Kansas Expocentre where riders could demonstrate the skills needed to pass the riding portion of the license exam.

The Capital City Cycle Show will run from 5 pm to 10 pm Friday, 11 am to 9 pm on Saturday and 11 am to 6 pm on Sunday.
