People Learn How to Stay Safe on Internet

The Topeka & Shawnee County Library wants people to stay safe on the internet. They hosted a "Play it Safe on the Internet" session Tuesday.

Computer trainer Becky Hinton discussed how to keep yourself and your computer safe. The group looked at anti-virus and anti-spyware software, as well as how to set up firewalls.

Hinton says people need to be wary of potentially harmful items that may seem innocent like clicking on pop-ups and some email attachments.

She also says to use common sense while on the web and don't give out personal information.
