Gasoline Prices Continue to Drop in Kansas

The AAA Fuel Gauge Report released Tuesday shows the average price of a gallon of regular unleaded in Kansas was $2.78 today, down 78 cents from a month ago.

Among metropolitan areas Llawrence has the highest average prices at $2.77 per gallon. In the Topeka area, pump prices are about $2.70 per gallon, and in Wichita it is at about $2.60 a gallon on average.

Experts say the drop in pump prices is the result of declining crude oil and wholesale gas costs.
