With only three weeks until election day, candidates in the Shawnee County District Attorney race are trying to win over undecided voters. Republican Candidate Eric Rucker and Democratic Candidate Chad Taylor participated in a debate at the Blind Tiger Tuesday, organized by the Topeka Independent Business Association.
The debate followed a question-answer format and 13's Melissa Brunner introduced the candidates and served as moderator. Taylor and Rucker also answered questions about a number of other issues, including prosecutorial misconduct and the relationship between the District Attorney and Police. Both candidates spoke about the importance of the debate for local businesses.
