WASHINGTON (AP) _ Kansas State Treasurer Lynn Jenkins says she
raised more than $640,000 since July in her bid to win a seat in
state's 2nd Congressional District.
The Republican is trying to oust incumbent Democratic Rep. Nancy
Boyda, of Topeka. Jenkins has about $550,000 cash on hand to spend
on television advertising in the three weeks before the Nov. 4
A spokesman says Boyda plans to report her latest fundraising
totals when they are due later this week.
Boyda had about $891,000 in the bank when she filed her last
federal campaign finance report in July.
Boyda was able to conserve resources earlier this year, while
Jenkins spent money to defeat former GOP Rep. Jim Ryun in a heated
