Searchers Find More Bones at Suspected Fossett Crash Site

MAMMOTH LAKES, Calif. (AP) _ Searchers have found 3 more bone
fragments at the mountain wilderness site of Steve Fossett's plane
crash.
The famed adventurer disappeared on a solo flight 13 months ago.
Numerous searches by air and on foot failed to find any trace of
Fossett's small plane. But a hiker discovered the site this week.
It's in California's Sierra Nevada, only about 65 miles from the
Nevada ranch where Fossett took off.
The bone fragments and one found yesterday are all being sent to
a lab for identification. Bundles of debris including mangled,
charred plane parts, will be examined to try to pinpoint what
happened.
Searchers cleared out today as a storm blew in, threatening to
bury remaining evidence under 2 feet of snow.
