Governor Asking Nebraskans to Lower Flags Sunday

LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) _ Gov. Dave Heineman is encouraging
Nebraskans to fly U.S. and Nebraska flags at half-staff Sunday in
observance of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service.
The service will be held Sunday at the official national
monument to all fallen firefighters in Emmitsburg, Md.
The U.S. Fire Administration says 110 firefighters died in the
line of duty nationwide in 2007.
President Bush signed a proclamation Friday ordering flags to be
flown at half-staff nationwide as part of National Fire Prevention
Week 2008.
