Festival of Speed in Topeka

Heartland Park Topeka's first Festival of Speed activities began Friday afternoon with the parade of champions.

A parade of 2007 Sports Car Club of America winning drivers and cars drove from Heartland Park Topeka to the Super Eight Motel at Forbes Landing.

Drivers admited they have one common goal.

"The plan is to win," Natha Waldbaum, driver from Omaha, Nebraska said. "Everybody's plan is to win. This is the national championships. This is when the best come out to play and hopefully to be on top when the day is over."

There will be a parade October 7th at pm which is free of charge to attend.
