The two Shawnee County District Attorney candidates held a debate Friday morning.
The Democratic candidate Chad Taylor and the Republican candidate Eric Rucker met at Brewster Place Retirement home to discuss issues that are important to them.
Rucker says his experience is key for the job of D.A., and he can continue working to improve Topeka.
Taylor focused on his ability to be a team builder and help solve existing problems in the city.
Attendees were interested in seeing what the candidates have to offer.
The next debate for the two candidates will be held October 14th at Blind Tiger brewery.
