KU is warning students of a possible scam.

The University Tuesday sent out an alert warning of phone calls and messages from someone claiming to work for the University's Comptroller's office.

The caller then asks students to update banking information at a 1-800 number.

The University says it will not contact students and ask for information like that.

They recommend you check with the appropriate KU office anytime you are requested to give information like this.
