ROELAND PARK, Kan. (AP) _ House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer says that he believes the U.S. House of Representatives will make the
necessary changes to pass the $700 million bailout bill.
Hoyer, a Democrat from Maryland, joined Kansas Democratic Rep.
Dennis Moore in suburban Kansas City on Tuesday to discuss
Congress' efforts to address the country's financial crisis. Hoyer
and Moore both said they hoped Congress would be able to vote on a
new bill by the end of the week.
The House voted 228-205 against the bailout bill Monday. Rep. Hoyer declined to be specific about possible changes in the bill, saying he wanted to discuss them with House members first.
