Kansas Unit Ready for Duty in Iraq

SALINA, Kan. (AP) _ Another Kansas National Guard unit is being deployed to Iraq.

Some 260 soldiers of the 287th Sustainment Brigade will go to Fort Lewis, Wash., Friday for additional training before going to Iraq. Once in the war zone, the 287th will provide logistical support for U.S. and Coalition forces.

A departure ceremony was held for the troops Friday at the Masonic
Center in Salina.
